    Thank you for choosing Kaia Customs. Every piece we create is made to order with care and attention to detail. These Terms & Conditions set clear expectations to protect both you and us.

    By placing an order with Kaia Customs, you agree to the following terms.

     SHIPPING POLICY

    • New Zealand: Free standard tracked shipping to urban addresses. Usually takes 3–10 working days after dispatch.
    • Australia: Free standard tracked shipping. Usually takes 5–15 working days after dispatch.
    • International: Contact us for a quote. We don’t ship to PO Boxes.

    Fast shipping is available on request for an extra cost.

    Note: We’re not responsible for courier delays, loss, damage, or missed deliveries once we’ve handed your parcel to the courier. Please contact the courier directly using your tracking number if there’s an issue.

    Change of Address: If your address changes after you order, let us know straight away. If we’ve already shipped it, any extra costs or problems are your responsibility.

     PRODUCTION POLICY

    All jewellery is made to order. We only start once your full payment clears.

    Production takes up to 7 weeks from cleared payment.
    Note: This is an estimate only. We’re not responsible for delays and they don’t entitle you to a refund or compensation.

    We’re not responsible for delays caused by suppliers, materials, holidays, or unexpected problems.

     DESIGN APPROVAL & CHANGES

    Before we start, we’ll send you a design to approve. Once you approve:
    • The design is final.
    • No changes can be made unless you pay extra and we agree.
    • No refunds or cancellations are allowed after production starts.
    • We’re not responsible for mistakes in size, colour, or design if they match what you approved.

     PACKAGING

    • Premium jewellery boxes come with premium orders.
    • All other orders are securely packed but don’t include premium boxes unless agreed.

     COMMUNICATION

    You need to stay contactable while we’re making your order.

    If we don’t hear from you for more than 14 days, we may:
    • Go ahead with the latest approved design; or
    • Put your order on hold without refund; or
    • Cancel your order without refund.

     REFUNDS & RETURNS

    Because your jewellery is custom-made:
    • No refunds or cancellations after production starts.
    • No returns or exchanges for any reason.
    • We’re not responsible for damage, wear, tarnishing, or breakage caused by mishandling, use, or storage after you receive it.

     LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

    Kaia Customs’ responsibility to you is limited to the amount you paid, as much as the law allows.

    We are not responsible for:
    • indirect or extra costs you incur
    • emotional distress or lost income
    • dissatisfaction with the final product after you approved it
    • damage from resizing or changing the piece after delivery

     In Australia:

    You have rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) that we can’t take away.
    Because this is a custom-made product, you agree:
    • It’s made exactly to your approved design, size, and details.
    • We’re not responsible if you change your mind, don’t like the approved design, or gave us wrong details.
    • Natural differences in materials or finish are normal and not faults.
    • Damage, wear & tear, improper use, or changes you make after delivery aren’t covered.

    If your product doesn’t match your approved design/specifications or is faulty under the ACL, let us know and we’ll follow the law.

     In New Zealand:

    You have rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act (CGA), and we respect those.
    If you’re buying for a business, the CGA doesn’t apply.

    As long as your jewellery matches the approved design and details, we’ve done what we promised.
    We’re not responsible if you change your mind, don’t like the approved design, gave us wrong details, or damage it after receiving it.

    You also agree not to make claims against Kaia Customs for anything outside of what the law requires.

    Any disputes will be handled in Wellington, under New Zealand or Australian law, whichever applies.
